Welcome! Thank you for visiting our website. The Village of Orwell is located in Ashtabula County, in northeast Ohio, within the region known as the Grand Valley. Incorporated on March 27, 1921, Orwell is the economic hub and Southwest Gateway to Ashtabula County.
Public Hearing:
The Village of Orwell will hold a public hearing to discuss the following proposed legislation amending the zoning code: Ordinance 2025-01-02 Amending Article VI: Signs, Section 6.02(C) (10); Ordinance 2025-01-03 AmendingArticle IV: Dimensions, Section 4.06(A); Ordinance 2025-01-04 Amending Article IX: Administration & Enforcement, Section 9.03(B); Ordinance 2025-01-05 Amending Article XIV: Definitions, Section 14.02. The public meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 4:15 p.m. in council chambers located at 179 W. Main St., Orwell, OH 44076. Copies of the proposed legislation may be view in the office of the clerk 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. M-F, excluding holidays.

Meetings:
Unless posted otherwise, all meetings are held at the Village Administration Building, 179 West Main Street, Orwell.
- Work sessions are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 4:30 p.m.
- Regular council meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month at 4:30 p.m.
- Planning, Zoning, and Building meetings are scheduled for the last Wednesday of every other month at 1:00 p.m. as follows: January 29, 2025 (CANCELED) New Date TBD; March 26, 2025; May 28, 2025; July 30, 2025, September 24, 2025; and November 19, 2025.
- Zoning Board of Appeals meetings are held on an as-needed basis.
- Parks and Recreation Meetings will be held at the Grand Valley Library at 12:00 p.m. (noon), the first Friday of every month.
