Orwell Community E-Recycling & Shred Event

The Village of Orwell recently hosted its Shred Event and E-Recycling collection, bringing residents together to safely and responsibly dispose of sensitive documents and unwanted electronics. The event was a tremendous success, with dozens of households participating and taking advantage of this free community service.

Village Council President Ruks, alongside volunteers from the Village Administration team, worked hands-on throughout the day to assist residents with unloading boxes and devices. Their efforts helped keep the process smooth, safe, and efficient—while adding a personal, neighborly touch to the event.

Special thanks go out to Protect N Shred for providing secure document shredding services and to GreenBoard IT for ensuring that e-waste was recycled responsibly. Both partners made it possible for Orwell residents to not only declutter but also contribute to protecting the environment.

Events like this highlight the Village’s commitment to transparency, sustainability, and service. We thank all who participated, volunteered, or supported this effort, and we look forward to offering more community-focused opportunities in the months ahead.
